Segway™ of the East Bay

Segway of the East BayDiscover the Segway HT evolution.
The Segway™ Human Transporter (HT) is the first of its kind—a self-balancing, personal transportation device designed to go anywhere people do. It gives people everywhere the ability to move faster and carry more, allowing them to commute, shop, and run errands more efficiently while also having fun. It makes businesses more productive by allowing workers greater versatility, mobility and carrying capacity. It does it all by harnessing some of the most advanced, thoroughly tested technology ever created.
Discover how Segway HT can make your business more profitable, your city more livable and your daily life more convenient. It's time to move forward.

Innovative Engineering. Intuitive Operation.
Segway™ Human Transporter (HT) can self-balance because of a technology called dynamic stabilization. Dynamic Stabilization works in much the same way your own sense of balance does. Where you have an inner ear, eyes, muscles, and a brain to keep you balanced, the Segway HT has solid-state gyroscopes, tilt sensors, high-speed microprocessors, and powerful electric motors performing to keep it balanced. Working in concert, these extensively tested, redundant systems sense your center of gravity, instantaneously assess the information, and make minute adjustments one hundred times a second. Segway HT balances whether you're traveling at 10 mph, carrying a heavy load, slowly maneuvering in tight spaces, or standing perfectly still.

Move forward. Go forward.
The Segway HT intuitively balances the way humans do—moving forward and backward, responding to changes in your body's position. There is no accelerator and no brakes. Lean forward and you move forward. Straighten up and you stop. Lean back, and you move back. To turn, rotate the steering grip under your wrist in either direction.
Operation is natural, intuitive, and one of the primary reasons Segway HT so seamlessly integrates into enterprise situations, pedestrian environments, and everyday life.

When stored and charged at room temperature, the Segway HT can operate in a wide range of temperatures. Actual performance is dependent on battery temperature, terrain and riding style.

Terrain

Variable, rugged Variable, rugged Smooth, even
The larger tires and wider profile of both the i and e Series make them ideal for varied terrain and rugged environments. The p Series is designed to operate on smooth, even surfaces. The Segway HT's inertial sensors constantly monitor the rider's position relative to gravity. This allows the Segway HT to adjust for changes in terrain while keeping the rider upright.

Segway Turning
One characteristic of a pedestrian is the ability to turn in place without impacting any nearby person or object, something few vehicles can do. By balancing on a single axle, Segway HT users can also turn in place.
