The Aprilia RS 50 confirms its undisputed historic role as the absolute leader in this market segment, both in Italy (where it holds a 90% share) and in Europe. A market where interesting growth is predicted and where a product such as this is destined to monopolise the scene.
A sporting, captivating and decidedly "racing" design characterises the Aprilia RS 50. Available in two different color combinations, it has a distinctive wraparound fairing, designed and studied in a wind tunnel and complemented by the characteristic tail, making it streamlined and exceptionally aerodynamic.
In countries where carrying a passenger is allowed, the tail accommodates a passenger saddle, without modifying the design and aerodynamics, and the exclusive saddle mount.
A perfect combination, blended with the front fairing which perfectly protects the rider in an optimum coefficient of aerodynamic penetration, eliminating turbulence almost completely. Further enhancing the tapering line are the hand guards incorporated in the fairing and the front mudguard, perfectly in harmony with the bodywork.
The front head light reinforces the sporty aggressive look of this 50 cc motorbike. Characterised by a double 35 Watt bulb, visibility and safety is greatly improved and the weight of the front is reduced (thanks to the transparent plastic shield), considerably benefiting riding precision.
The design of the five spoke light alloy wheels further characterises this Aprilia proposal, reducing its weight. The front wheel has a diameter of 17".
The attractive and extremely practical petrol tank incorporates the petrol cock with mechanical reserve. The 13 litre capacity offers remarkable riding range.
The technology applied to this exceptional product is truly at a high level, from the two-stroke single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, characterised by lamellar intake and a balancing countershaft, to the six ratio gearbox and lubrication with separate mixing and variable flow positive displacement pump.
However Aprilia's absolute masterpiece in creating this project is the extraordinary die-cast aluminium frame. the Aprilia RS 50 is the only standard 50 cc motorbike to adopt this technological feature.
Attractive and efficient, the rear double swingarm optimises the efficiency of the rear suspension, characterised by the new single hydraulic shock absorber with wheel travel of 120 mm.
The 35 mm diameter hydraulic front fork with wheel travel of 110 mm guarantees reliability, safety and high performance.
The front braking system guarantees prompt, safe and standard-setting braking. the twin pot calliper is combined with a 280 mm diameter stainless steel disk.
The rear braking system is also of an extremely high level, thanks to a 220 mm diameter stainless steel disk and a powerful single pot calliper supported by an aluminium bracket.
This is accompanied by fundamental details which would be enough on their own to earn even a higher capacity machine a reputation for quality. for example, the forged aluminium brake and gear levers, the die-cast aluminium foot rest mounts, the aluminium silencer, the instrumentation mounting and the tubeless radial tyres with different mixture and specifications.
This product is completed by adoption of a new catalysed exhaust, enabling EURO 1 limits to be respected without compromising performance. |
