RS 250 Challenge
The motorbike for living the great thrill of racing first hand, with updated graphics and look...

APRILIA RS 250

The Aprilia RS 250 without doubt represents the maximum in terms of technology taken to extremes, engineering solutions and the heritage of the racing world transferred to a standard product.

rs250 Race bikeThe current version confirms and re-establishes Aprilia's technological supremacy, an upgrade of a super-specialised product, representing an alternative to higher capacity bikes, with similar performance but avant-garde technical components and decidedly lower running costs.

The RS 250 benefits from all the experience accumulated in the Single Make "Aprilia Challenge" Trophy and, of course, from the World Championship titles won in recent years.

The RS 250 immediately conjures up images of the race track, the circuits, the pits, the racing atmosphere, the direct challenge and top performance. In particular, thanks to the new 2002 colors, the motorcycle moves ever closer to the Aprilia Racing world and the official bikes of this successful racing season. The fairing has been wind tunnel designed to optimise aerodynamics; the mechanics and frame derive directly from the racing world (single make and Grand Prix); the engine is powerful and characterised by constant fluid output; the components are the best available on the market; the front and rear suspension are totally adjustable and the weight is a precise reference standard for the whole sector.

In terms of appearance, the bike is a faithful copy of the Aprilia motorcycles which compete in the world championships. Its sporting and aggressive lines express dynamism and lightness, fruit of long sessions and tests in a wind tunnel. In line with the aerodynamic requirements of racing bikes, the rear tail also has a spacious compartment under the saddle large enough to hold the passenger saddle when removed for track use or in the "solo" configuration.

The entire fairing has been wind tunnel tested, enabling the bike's speed performance to be exploited to the full while guaranteeing protection and comfort.

The hand guards are incorporated in the bodywork, helping to eliminate irritating turbulence and to completely integrate the rider with the fairing.

The front headlight has a double multifocal bulb, considerably improving night-time visibility and giving the machine an aggressive and original look.

The analogue/digital racing instrumentation includes a genuine on-board computer able to provide all the information fundamental for a machine of this type (lap times, instant speed, average and maximum speed in miles or kilometres per hour, chronometer, clock, water temperature in degrees C or F, programmable excess revolutions and indication of battery voltage) with easy and immediate reading.

The tank allows for perfect integration between rider and motorcycle, with a capacity of a full 19.5 litres for guaranteed riding range.

Thanks to the use of a wind tunnel, the overall design of the fairing enables the performance of the most powerful two-stroke twin in its class to be increased: maximum speed and top acceleration.

Electronic control of the exhaust valve and carburettors and mapping of the programmed spark advance ensure high maximum power and at the same time high engine usability at all running speeds.

As for the mechanical components, the Showa upside-down fork is an important plus (adjustable in compression, rebound and preload) and can be regulated to suit every need. Also significant is the rear suspension, adjustable in length and extension.
