About DAViDA

Davida began in the mid seventies as a group of motorcyclists and engineers, designing and producing engine tuning equipment and swinging arms for super bikes of that era.

Ten years later, inspired by the racers of the 1950’s and their low dome helmets, we produced our first pudding basin helmet the ‘Davida Classic’.

At Davida, product development is an organic process that has always been driven by our own needs, as motorcyclists, for quality goods. In the eighties we were riding long distances over short weekends and needed kit that would protect us, fit well and look good. Frequent trips to Europe gave us the impetus to develop our first modern safety helmet and we built the ‘Classic Jet’ which met the European safety standards of the early 1990’s.

Davida has a total commitment to helmet quality and head protection. Over the last few years we have combined our skills and experience to create an innovative design process for developing our helmets of the future.

Today, our new Jet helmets meet Europe’s stringent safety standards. We are now a larger group of motorcyclists still working together at our workshop near Liverpool, England. Inspired and informed by our own pursuits on motorcycles, we continue to produce a distinctive range of open face helmets, all hand built and leather lined. Our goggles are carefully chosen to complement the classic shapes and designs of our helmets.

Whether we are off to Le Mans for the weekend or in the morning rush hour to Liverpool, we constantly evaluate our products and engage with people who use them and welcome comments on their experiences. We do as you do!

Davida is committed to developing and improving styles, materials and manufacturing standards for your safety and comfort. The products may change but our philosophy remains the same. Enjoy your pursuits...

Designed to Fit

At Davida, we recognize the importance of both individual fit and overall helmet size. We have transformed our entire design process over the past few years to produce a well proportioned helmet to fit a wide range of different head sizes.

Advanced calculations and complex materials ensure the Davida Jet has the right materials in the right place to achieve the latest ECE R22-05 safety standard requirements for head protection.

Computer Aided Design Technology combined with traditional sculpturing techniques to produce a well proportioned helmet shell for all sizes.

We have applied our technical expertise and research knowledge to the development of an innovative new design process. Getting to grips with computer aided design technology and anthropometric data (human head data) has put all of us at Davida on a steep learning curve. The result is a highly effective new helmet and a unique design process for the development of all our future helmets. We have succeeded in producing a helmet with good balance and weight for all heads, large and small.

We use three shell sizes for our new helmets together with three liner sizes. These follow the contours of the head to provide six overall helmet sizes from XS to XXL. We recognize the importance of aesthetics as well as fit and have created an authentic classic shape. The initial shell model has been finely sculptured by hand, using time honored modeling techniques.

The new Davida Jet integrates superior fitting, traditional style and manufacturing into a modern safety product that meets the latest European safety standard (ECE). Worldwide, safety standards for motorcycle helmets such as ECE R22-04, BS 6658, SNELL M95, DOT 218 and AS 1698 operate a similar set of stringent test methods to measure impact absorption and retention. Protection is achieved by the combined action of the helmet shell and liner. The head is adequately protected when surrounded by a sufficiently rigid shell and the necessary volume of shock absorbing material.
